Houdini Ticket Changes

We may be organized but we're not Houdini's. :) Giving gifts to over 200 children is a feat in itself. Giving gifts to over 200 children, all in a matter of hours on the same day, is pushing it. That is why "Brighten Their Christmas" is planning to give gifts to over 200 children on different days in order to better server the community of Pisco, Peru. This will allow better organization, adequate storage demand, as well as giving us all a moment to breath in between shifts!

However, there was one problem with this. My plane ticket to Peru didn't arrive until late Monday night which would give me just enough time to participate in the second half of the program forcing me to totally miss the first half of the program scheduled for Sunday! This was a disappointment none-the-less. But what made things even worse was knowing that the flight I had, leaving from Des Moines in the middle of a snowy season, could be easily delayed or postponed making it hard for me to see any part of the program! This was a risk I did not want to take but what could I do after purchasing non-refundable tickets?

This would surely make even Harry Houdini, a famous escape artist known for getting out of any bind he was put it, wonder "How in the world am I gonna get out of this one?" But don't get too worried. This isn't a straight-jacket and God is more powerful than any Houdini!

After calling the airlines I was able to talk with a helpful young lady who was able to change my tickets so I could leave on Saturday December 20th instead of Monday the 22nd. This will give me enough time now to work the whole project as well as give me relief knowing that I can afford a delayed plane if I have too.

The only question left now regarding my flight is "Do you guys still serve peanuts?"

  1. Yahweh, is in control Ivan! Pray with faith and He hears the prayer of a righteous man and it avails much... We were very impressed with your blog(s) and feel that somewhere Yahweh has gotten ahold of your heart and has given you a burden for the poor and fatherless. Your heart is a refreshing thing to see in todays commercialized "bottom line" celebration of their pockets! Our prayers are with you and your endevor. Keep the faith! Your brother in Messiah Yahoshua Yahron
