Muchos Regalos! (Many Gifts!)

The gifts are piling up both here in the states as well as in Peru! As stated in previous posts, the Brighten Their Christmas team plans to give gifts to over 200 children in Pisco, Peru. But that's not enough to satisfy my thirst. The 200 number doesn't account for those who fall in the 'adolescent' age; the children of age 12 to 17 years. If we were to include these older children it would add another 96 to the current 200. Thats an increase of almost 50% for those number freaks out there! But can this really be done with such short notice?

Some of you may be wondering how many kids we can actually help this Christmas. I mean come on, we're not Santa Clause's right?

. . . Well we may not have a sled but if you want to call the members of "Brigten Their Christmas" a bunch of jolly-ole' Saint Nick's then go right ahead because I got two suit cases that are going to get crammed with gifts for 96 adolescents!

With Thanksgiving break next week I will have just enough time to purchase small gifts that may not seem like much to us, but for unsuspecting teenagers who haven't received gifts in the past, this will be amazing!

Well that's the news for now. Make sure to keep an eye out for those reindeer this Christmas!

For those interested in what the younger children will be getting please see the pictures below. These are samples of the gifts that will be given out. These samples came straight from Peru via Aunt Pat. Her and Garry and been working feverishly to make this a success and I am beyond thankful for all their work.

As you can see, the shirts have English writing on them. This may seem odd coming from a Spanish speaking country but that fact is the Children love English writing. It is almost like a fad to them. Even though the children do not understand the words, they understand it is English and that makes it cool.

Here is another picture.
